What is AAA baseball?

MJ Little League will be putting together one AAA team for Major division and two teams for Minor. These teams are considered our competitive teams. They are called Miller Express Minor AAA and Miller Express Major AAA.

The Major team will play in the Regina AAA league for the regular ball season of May and June.  Games can be any day of the week and are played pretty close to 50/50 between Regina and Moose Jaw.  The coaches of these teams will have practices that could be any day of the week as well.  During May and June these teams will typically attend 2-3 weekend tournaments.

The two Minor teams will play in tournaments throughout May and June. There could be additional practices any day of the week. All Minor registrants will also be placed on a team to play in the Moose Jaw Minor League division.  Those teams will play, as in past years, scheduled games in Moose Jaw on Monday and Wednesday, with the odd Friday if we have the number of teams that dictates we need more days. The AAA players will be divided amongst those teams.

Following our regular season, we have an "All Star" season that runs for the month of July and into a bit of August.  In June we will host tryouts for the Minor AAA All Star and Major AAA All Star teams. If there is enough interest, AA teams will also be created. Anyone who has played Little League for at least 60% of the regular season games can try out for these teams, whether they played on the AAA team or regular season spring team in Moose Jaw.  Minor AAA All Stars will spend July practicing, going to tournaments and then ending off the season typically with a year end tournament in Alberta on August long weekend.  Major AAA All Stars will spend July practicing, attending 1-2 tournaments, play for the Prairies (provincial) title, and if successful go to the Canadian Little League Championship in August.
